1. Who's got one?
2. What do you think of it?
3. How much did you pay?

Just a few questions as I am seriously thinking of replacing my tub liner with a spray on job.

1. I have got the over the lip
2. Love it. Nothing moves, looks good great product.
3. About $800 for under the lip and about $850 for over the lip.

Tub liners suck. The water and crap gets under them and it doesn't dry out.

The spray on liner will never come off or get anything under it. they sandpaper the tub to rough it up before spraying it on.

I have an over lip spray in rhino liner, I think it was about $900 and it's the best IMO.

I've literally chucked shit in the back and spilt fuel etc on it and it hasn't even harmed it, I'm pretty sure it has a lifetime warranty aswell.

Also if you do scratch it, it can be repaired, they will cut the small section out thats scratched and then respray it, can't even tell that it was damaged.

Definately worth the $800 - $900 mate..

Cheers, Shane.

Yeah, I've been quoted $850 for over lip liner, sounds reasonable now. Think I will get it now.

Just had a go at taking the tub liner out, 6 screws and 5 minutes later it was out. No screws holding the liner in the tub, just the tailgate. Here are some pics of the rubbish under the liner. Note where it was rubbing on the wheel arches, has rubbed the paint off.

What I suppose I don't get is what it matters under there? I know this sounds defensive but what do you think it'd look like in the tub if you removed the spray on liner? I guess my point is for me the tub liner is what I want but since it may not always be what I want I'd rather something temporary.

It matters because under a conventional liner the dirt rubs between the liner and paint which scratches the paint off. Then, when water gets under the liner (which it does) you get rust

By spraying on a Rhino Liner solves this problem as there are no gaps. I agree that it wouldn't be pretty if you tried to take a Rhino Liner out but why would you want to do that?? The whole point is they are permenant.

As you can see from my pics above, the paint is already rubbing off. I prefer the peace of mind that the Rhino Lining will give me. Nothing can get under it so there is no chance of rubbing. Plus it has a lifetime warranty.

Hi guys

I agree poly tub liners make a mess. I had one in 3 weeks and when we removed it to rust proof the vehicle it had already rubbed through the paint on the tub and the tailgate :(

We ended up using an alternative to a Rhino liner (U-Pol Raptor truck bed liner) which worked really well - $600 including materials and labour (Brisbane)

I got an overlip liner from Heritage Ute Gear $380. Took maybe 1 hr to fit, no screws into the car. Came with rubber matting to put down first and plastic tape to run down the top of the tub all round.

Works great so far.

They claim they are of maximum UV stability derek, with those sorts of claims there is likely a warranty you could ask them about.

We've been a Rhino Linings Distributor since last year. If anyone wants to PM me I'll give you whatever information I can, as I see it. Definitely talk to me before you go ahead with any liner other than Rhino, so that you can at least make informed decisions.

As mentioend above... My first ute had the tub with the Rhino gear...

Loved it... Best stuff ever... Will be putting a layer on the bottom of my tray soon. Cost $700 about 5 years back.

If you run a tauneu cover, its best on the lux anyway to go over the top and down the side an inch or so to stop it rubbing on the paint as well...

Hi Chris

Looking to get the liner done soon, however noticed in your shed you have the ARB tub liner. Is there a reason you don't have the Rhino Liner in your beast??

Yep, very simple. Bought the car and had the drop-in liner installed with canopy before we took on the Rhino distributorship. Now I don't have the time to take the canopy off to redo the liner in the tub. Maybe, if I get the chance - I'd love to quieten it down some. Will be doing the one on the tailgate, though.

Buzzy, like many jobs most of the work is in the preparation and setup. Maybe a little high but everyone sets their own prices.
