TJM Gold Shocks & Suspension

TJM Gold Shocks & Suspension

Postby new44 on Sun Oct 03, 2010 7:54 pm

A thread for anyone with the above or thinking about TJM Suspension.

Just installed the above. I will add some more personal comment down the track but initial impressions.

Sealed road town and country 100 K.M. empty.... Very happy. It is a firmer ride as expected but I`m surprised it does soak up small bumps in the road very well. I was worried I would regret my choice. I am very happy and don`t have any negative comment so far.
I hope there are no sagging issues. I am confident in their Shocks and Struts having used most of the XJS range in work utes over the years with no problems.

Sealed road towing 1.5 T camper/ empty Ute, 500 K.M. 2nd rate country roads.. Still more than happy with the whole package, feels very safe towing at 100 K.M.H. around corners on bumpy roads.

Dirt/off roads impressions soon..

Some more feedback / trip impressions.

A recent trip, Mt Beauty to Falls ck to Omeo Hwy (sealed steep mountain road up and down towing jayco camper).
Feels much more secure cornering towing the camper.

Omeo Hwy /no camper (dirt hwy with potholes loose surface and some ruts) a firmer ride than standard, still able to smooth out the rough surface.

Easy 4x4 tracks at a slow pace, still happy with ride comfort.

Only complaint so far is a new squeak from I think one side leaf spring guide.
I need to find time to bounce it up and down and investigate. Then go to TJM for a fix.

I will update soon.

Another update: ride heights and sag here viewtopic.php?f=37&t=505

Still more than happy with the suspension . If I could rate it out of 10 then 8 or 9 would be the score.
No body gets 10 so I rate TJM Gold as great.
I still have not seen to the rear leaf squeak . I will soon get TJM to fix it. I am sure it`s a minor fix.

I am surprised the ride heights have not sagged more.

Still happy over all.

Cheers
