All the steps in one place with biased opinions to boot
1. Remove the grill
http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=9174&p=186285#p1862812. Remove the conector from the back of the headlight globes. Just pull straight back.
3. Remove the rubber boot. Just peal it off.
4. OPTIONAL: Remove the headlights
http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=8406&p=162850&hilit=headlight+removal#p162692You don't have to but mounting options for the balasts are very limited. By not removing the headlights (not enough time) I also figured I would not mess up the current aim.
5. Remove the globes by releasing the wire clip, push in and up. If you are not sure you can see the end by looking in through the front of the headlight.
6. My kit allowed the reflector to be removed from the globe with a twist and pull.
This meant I could prefit the rubber boot to the plastic shaft holding the reflector. You can work out which way it goes on as the boot has top written on it.
7. Insert the HID globe, twist and lock
8. I flicked the boot inside out to allow the wire clip to lock into position fairly easily. If the bottom short part of the wire clip catches the boot, just press it down and then toward the headlight.
9. Flick the boot back to shape and seat it on the headlight. ( Photo might look different if you have it removed from the car in optional point 4.)
10. Run the main cable from your attachment point, I used a spare hole,
under the headlight across the top of the intercooler (zip tie in place) through to the driver's side headlight.
11. Fit the balasts under the headlights (if you removed them) or choose another convenient spot like the battery box for example.
12. Connect up all the cables to the appropriate plugs, +ve and -ve to the battery. There is also a nice earth point on the drivers fender next to the air cleaner box for the driver's side.
13. OPTIONAL. Reinstall the headlights if you removed them
14. Make sure all the cables a zip tied down
15. Test. It works right
16. Replace the grill
17. Admire your work and have a beer.
18. If you do get a flash from a friendly driver you may need to adjust the headlights a tad (Recommended by others in their posts) and naturally enough its nicely documented how to do it here ->
