will these tyres fit onto an mn with a 2inch lift? or do i need mudflap mods? also a 16x7 steel rim, what offset should i run would +20 be ok or?

you should fit these tyres to a 16x8" rim

the closer to stock the easier the fitment (+30 is the offset closest to stock)

if you went to +20 or even wider, you will need to do mods to the plastic guards and maybe more.

Thanks 4 that, I really was unsure about what new tyre and rim size to go so you think if I go for what u suggested I should fit the tyres ok?

have a read of the 285 threads and the wheel offset guides

you need to know what 33" tyres will do to the vehicle "overall" in terms of gearing etc, as well as the fine tollerances that fitting this size may cause.

I don't run this size so cannot give personal recomendations, but based on the threads in the link- soo what you reckon.

also check out the diameter of your prefered tyre choice as this can vary between manufactures- some smaller (MTZ) some larger (simex) and this could be the difference between a good fit and something that rubs like a bastard.

yer sweet well i have read all of the threads in that tyre index which cd made and it seems that the 285/75/16 Mtz would fit ok but still unsure about the gearing aspect of it running this size on an Mn, i did read a bit of stuff on drawbacks with the 265/16 but no one seemed to complain about loss of power, This whole tyre thing is doin my head in haha, understand about the rim size 16x8 seem to be the go with a 30+ offset still just unsure bout the tyre size as i would like some muddies in 285/75/16 but at the same time dont want to stuff up gear ratios etc... not to worried bout cutting gaurd and removing bottle though.
what to do ?????????????????

FWIW I've been running the same size tyre though in a MT ATZ on the MN for a month or so with no issues. I haven't noticed that much power loss. The torque of the oiler keeps it going.

I have noticed it kicks down on hills now that it used to cruze up in 5th though that could be more to do with the clogged manifolds that are getting cleaned tomorrow... lol Fuel use did go up about 2lt/100kms.
The revs at 110kms have dropped a little it now sits on 2000 RPM where with the standard HT's on the 17" rims it was 2200 RPM.

A mate bought his 285/75 x 16 MTZ's the same time as I got the ATZ's. On his Lux and has pretty much gone through them in 30k KMS with daily blacktop use yet in almost the same kms my ATZ's have still got 18mm tread depth. At $340 a hoop its a pretty expensive exercise to use muddies in the city.

sweet well that sounds ok then, i already have a set of all terrains on the car which are what i use for everyday general use but i have been looking for a decent set of mud tyres as the all terrains look tiny now (245x17 i think whatever size comes with the car standard)was looking to go for a bigger tyre for the muddy weekends. thanks for the help. does anyone else use a simalar tyre to the mtz on an mn with little trouble of trimming and power?

Dansan, I have a set of 265/75 16 Micky Thomson MTZ sitting on a set of steel rims. You are more than welcome to put them on to give the gearing a try if you want. Just shoot me a pm if you want. Sorry I can't help with the 285s though
