Time for a new radiator mate. That tranny fluid ain't supposed to be mixed with water.

Oil in the radiator is usually an indication to a head gasket failure - but I have never seen THAT much oil mixed in with the coolant.

What does it look like under your old filler cap and also on your dipstick?

dipstick shows empty the engine oil has worked its way into the cooling system :o

Hopefully it's something simple like an oil cooler that's failed, if not as macca said probably more serious like a head gasket

Engine oil? :o :o Head gasket failure or a gallery wall has collapsed. Both relatively unusual.

You should be still within the five year warranty and have the 10 year drivetrain as well?

Electrolysis and blown head. Do you have water or moisture coming out the exhaust when the motor is running?

Fisrst check is head gasket mate, the single most common cause of oil in the coolant system.
As oil is lighter than water it sits in the top of the radiator and is what gets pushed out as the coolant system warms and expands.

Nine times out of ten the head gasket is to blame as the oil is under pressure being forced into the head to lubricate the camshaft. Because the oil pressure is greater than the coolant system pressure, the oil escapes into the coolant passage and then sits in the top of the radiator.....

The most common cause for the blown head gasket is overheating or a faulty gasket.

Your drivetrain warranty should cover this, you may have to insist :o or take it to Eagers.....

Oh as long as there is enough oil in the engine you can drive it, but try and keep to short trips only.

Coolant system will need proper flushing anyway so a little more won't hurt, just keep the engine oil topped up.

That's a pisser. Head gasket or engine oil cooler (never taken that much notice if there is one...).
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.

I've seen this with the Ford Rangers and BT50's up here, it was an O-ring poorly seated under the oil cooler on the newer ones. The above is also a common issue on the 1HZ Toyota's only the cooler fails on them.

Image shows the oil cooler found under exhaust manifold turbo and the oil filter housing etc.
4M40 - 4M41 oil cooler.jpg

They have O-rings circled in Red on the image that would likely be the cause of the issue given the age and kilometres on that engine. Same set up as the BT-50 and Rangers and I've personally done two recently. same symptoms, oil pushing into coolant rapidly and no coolant in oil.

I'd be looking there before lifting the head. ;)

You have warranty mate, lots of theories here and any one could be correct, let Mits decide and fix it.

Meh, just ring Mitsu to come chuck it on a tilt tray. They will work out what is wrong. ;)

//On more important matters... How you going to get that oil stain off the driveway?
