How many K's on your Q?

Postby schilgsy on Sun Dec 13, 2015 6:42 pm

Interested to see how many kilometers people are putting on their MQ tritons.

Also interested in any problems that arise along the way.

I've had my MQ for almost 4 months and 18 000 klms and after getting used to the turbo lag absolutely love it.

I got a trouble free 275 000 klms out of my ML and hope for the same reliability from the MQ.

Still at 430kms on mine. Only picked it up on Friday two days before..lol

However, I do around 6k kms a month, so it will see a lot of kms. I'll keep you boys updated on the forum. I am starting to get used to the turbo lag also. Mine is a 2.4L diesel auto. I have booked it in for the first inspection next Saturday.

When did you first change your engine oil? I am thinking of running dumping the original oil at around 3000kms and replacing it with Penrite fully synthetic DL-1.

Cheers.

I did an oil and filter change at 5000 k's, used Penrite DL 1.
I was under the impression they would do an oil change at the 1500 service, silly me.

23000klms and finally got a snorkel that was supposed to be fitted before delivery. Bought a Safari, ended up with a TJM? long story.
loving the new triton, just hoping the aftermarket accessories soon flood the market. Although they're already faster than when I was shopping for the ML.

Upgrade! Tjm is definitely the nicest looking snorkel.

I'm coming up on 10,000km on mine

Mine has just clocked over 10k. Not bad considering I got it under two months ago. Good to hear that the engine is trouble free. I have always a bit skeptical about buying a b'new car with a newly introduced engine

30 000 klm service done today. Slight idle problem scanned and hopefully fixed, towbar recall sorted. Loving the new (ish) ute.

Just a decal change on the factory towbar. It was picked up early so most should have sorted before delivery.
It's supposed to read 3000kg capacity with 300kg download on the 4x4 diesel. I think the original said 3100 and 350kg.

13400km , booked in for the 15000 km service Friday. $quoted $350 for the service (capped price servicing). I also gave th him a list of issues I'd like them to have a look at, recalls and their 'fixes'.

Just a few that have been raised on the forum already.

- Popping out of third at the slightest touch and hard to get I to second at times.
- revs dropping to near stall when warm and coming to a stop at lights. Then rise and fall (with or without A/C on) when idling.
- knock in the rear 1/4 panels
- towbar recall

Oh and raised the quality of the paint. I swear I can see straight through the paint on the doors, although it's much worse on the inside of door frames...

Mine has just hit 25000kms and still no dramas at all. I have already booked it in for the 30K service in 3 weeks time. I have also received a letter from mitsubishi about the tow bar recall. Apparently they are changing some nuts and bolts and a few other bits to make sure that the tow bar doesn't come loose when you are towing something.

I have just gone past 56000kms now and it was also time to replace the front brake pads. The pads were totally gone with only a couple of mm of brake material left on them. The cost of the genuine front brake pads for the MQ Triton Diesel from the dealer is $170 incuding GST..

Cheers
