Ignition wire

Ignition wire

Postby Sandstorm76 on Sun Feb 12, 2017 2:07 pm

I need to wire into ignition for my DC DC charger. I wired into socket 9 of my 12 pin which is aux power. I expected this to be ignition; only after wiring figured out it isn't. Now got to find an ignition wire somewhere. Preferably near the back end of the ute. Any ideas please??? Thanks

Assuming your just looking for trigger wire, why no just tap into your ciggie lighter socket supply.

Also keeps you clear of any ETACS related stuff.

If you want to use accessories but not activate your DC-DC unit, just put an isolating switch in line.
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!

Thanks. I tapped into aux 12v socket in Centre console. Blue and red wire is positive if anyone is interested.

Hi there all,

I've got a new MR Triton and I also want to run a trigger wire for my Projecta IDC25 DC-DC charger back to my trailer plug (for my caravan's house batteries). I have an aux battery and charger in the tub also that needs a trigger feed.
I don't really want to mess with pulling the centre console apart just to get to the cigarette lighter.
So I was hoping someone may know where I might find an ignition source feed point that was relatively easy to get to..?

Piggy back fuse connected to one of the unused fuse sockets in the fuse box.

Look up the online manual - there are a number of choices activated by ACC or IGN. Just stay away from anything that supplies an ECU.

Thanks NFT5th - just can't seem to find the area in the manual that indicates where the fuse box is, or where unused fuse sockets are...

Right!! Piggyback fuse into the cigarette lighter maybe - or unused fuse sockets 5, 14, and 18...
