MQ AC thermo fan?

MQ AC thermo fan?

Postby jerrah on Tue Feb 28, 2017 2:21 pm

I've noticed the MQ has what looks like the same mounting points and power connection for an electric AC fan as per the MN model and challenger. http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12913

I've looked in the fuse box and I can't see a location for a relay to drive the fan.

Has anyone tried retrofitting an electric fan from the Challenger in a MQ yet?

I've got my hands on a 2nd hand fan from an MN. As far as I could see the wiring wasn't there in the end and the project went way down my list of priorites. I read elsewhere on the site that someone said the Pajero Sport didn't come with a fan? I'm keen to hear more if you make progress with it!

I just got a small fan from the Supercheap inventory ( but if you've got the real deal, all the better) and control it by tapping the compressor supply. This setup works a treat.

Alternatively, you could get a little thermostat and kick the can in when the condenser reaches a set temp.

It’s been a few years, I should get around to installing the fan!
Where did you splice with the AC clutch fan wire? I assume you used a relay?
