Crash, it's the colour temp of white LEDs that's the problem at around 6500K. Something close to selective yellow shouldn't have the same propensity to light up anything in the air and if the beam pattern was correct, might actually work well. Believe it or not but I've actually been looking at some Korean made LEDs that are designed as motorcycle headlights for the US market to use as fogs for my car. Super wide and having a very sharp cutoff they actually look like good candidates - it's just the $700 price tag that's causing a problem.
Unfortunately for me, the Koreans don't seem to suffer from the same lack of business morals as the Chinese, so the market isn't flooded with unbranded excess production priced at marginal rates.
