New Triton on the waaaayyyyy

Postby MN GLXR on Fri Nov 06, 2009 5:14 pm

Hi Folks,

My new MN, GLXR arrives next week :D on my 40th birthday  .

I thought about getting a red sports car and a new hairstyle for my 40th but instead went for the Triton.

GLXR
Auto
Tow
Soft cover
Tray liner
Tow
Front tint
Gunmetal Grey

I've read a few of the posts and really enjoy the information that is shared.

My first task will be to install the radios and antennas (Icom 400 pro UHF and IC7000 HF rig) and then perhaps lights.

Anyway, g'day to everyone.

Adrian

Welcome to the site Adrian, congrats on the new ute mate. There is an endless amount of info for you to get through, if you cant find what you want on here, your either not trying hard enough or its not Triton related.  Make sure you get some photos up in your shed when you bring Serena, oopps, i mean the new girl home. Cheers Ben. 8-)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

Welcome Adrian ... I just got my rig similar to yours without some of your goodies.... bet you'll love driving it, and for us others in our 40's it still feels like a sports car .... good luck finding a spot to fit 2 x UHF !! I had to squeeze my small one (no jokes thanks) between the passenger seat and console (see my shed pics) ... buggar of a thing to fit extra bits in

what is your location MN GLXR ?

and welcome.

and what are you going to hang those aerials off...?
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

Thanks for the friendly welcome fellas.

Location - Sydney, North Shore.

Yes fitting the rigs will be a challenge but I am a bit of wiz when it comes to radio installations. I'll have a scout around the cabin and see what I can come up with.

Antennas will be mounted on nudge bar until I get a bull bar - or perhaps on the sports bar?

Cheers

Ok so she arrived today....BUT

When I arrive the dealer tells me the soft cover is not in stock but they will come to my house and fit it when it is.

Also they did not tell me - but luky I noticed - the tub liner was the under rail version, not the over rail I ordered. To their credit they acknowledged the difference and said they gave the under rail version as a loan because the over rail version was not in stock.

Why is it soooo hard!!!!!

Anyway she is a BEAUTY. My first 4x4. She is so shiney I am embarassed.

I had a look around the cabin and yes mounting a CB in the dash will be difficult (impossible) unless you get rid of the am/fm radio. Leave it with me.........

Photos to come soon. Cheers :D :D :D

So Hard!!!!!!

I may be cynically simplistic, but
at sales man school they teach you to flog you a car, at the highest cost, by any means.

There is no subject, 101 Listen to the customer or
102 Return your phone call or
103 Tell the customer the truth

etc etc..... :D
