I have had enough of the front seats does anyone have any ideas?
What does it cost for decent replacements.
Is it possible to reapolster and is cost effective or is it better to buy new.
Does anyone what to do a group deal and where from?

Why does everyone hate them so much?
I dont find them uncomfortable, is this only a few people that cant stand them?
Id like a show of hands (so to speak) of how many actualy find them unbearable and why.

I put sheepies on the front the day i got mine. Have driven from coffs to wolgan valley ( near lithgow ) about a 7-8hr drive no probs. A hell of a lot better than when i did it in old rodeo.
Have driven around town without the sheepies and found i sit to low with the standard seats.8-) 8-)

We should be talking about whats right with them.
There is very little to no side support in the back rest and seat to stop side movement and very little thigh support.
There is no lumber adjustment at all.
They are are the worst seats in the dual cabs out there IMHO.
My work Ford Ranger (lateast model) has far better seats in all the above mention areas as does my Subaru Outback and was wonder how to fit them even.
And I dont think a sheepskin cover will fix them.
I was also thinking about getting the standard seats reapolstered but is it worth the cost or just buy new i.e Racaro or Paratus seats.
I was also thinking a set for BA falcon XR6 front seats if i could get some but will the fit in the same mounts?
Thats My 2 cents worth on some crap seats.

They suck compared to the mk glxr seats, don't understand why a much better ute in almost every aspect has smaller rubber and crap seats.

I nearly didn't buy the Triton because I noticed the poor seats during the test-drives. However I packed up the front of the rails with washers and put on some thick sheepskin seatcovers and don't really notice them anymore 8-)

Have to say "yes" to that
Spent most of my money on booze, women, guns, utes, motorcycles, fishing & boats.

I wasted the rest!

Yip, in std form they are rubbish.......!! Mine have packers under the front rails, sheepskins, & have been stripped & reupholstered as well. Made a huge deferance, & now I can do 1200km in a day, without wanting to set fire to the poxy seats........;) ;)
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!

They're just the WORST seats in stock form you could ask for imho :(

As I posted before I have made a fix kit for mine and now they're pretty darn good ,good side & lumbar support and l can now drive to the big smoke and back without becoming a cripple.

I reckon I should start selling fix kits 8-) :-)

Im gonna have to agree with Joker! haha.

Do you remember that old kids story about the princess that could feel a pea through 20 mattresses...

Yea well so the story goes
"Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that"

They are without question the worst seats I've ever parked my ass on while driving.
The seats in a Navara are 10 times better Hibux seats are 5.
(I'm old-ish and tall 8-) )

It's a pity because the rest of the ute is so good.

There's always the option of replacing the seats with really really good ones like Recaro's - it's expensive, but even if you did both the fronts the truck works out a lot less than a Hibux and only a bit more than the Navara.
(Based on the prices I have been quoted for the three trucks)

I tried a Recaro at ARB in a single cab POS 4x2 and it was awesome.

The seats suck big time. Driving short distances and the occasional longer trip they are OK, but for the last 6 weeks been driving back and forth from Mackay to Airlie Beach for work. By the time i've done 1 1/2 hours, my back is aching. The lumbar support (what there is) is so in the wrong spot for me. Looking at after market seats ATM before i become a cripple! My other car, a mazda 6, i can drive 12 hours in it and feel fine....:x

Drivers side seems to have settled in well but the passenger side due to less use I guess is a fair way firmer. I am pretty right with mine

Another awesome tip from the subi man!!!!

Spent a total of $1.50 and made the seats much better to live with. Two trips to Newcastle and back this week and much reduced back and arse ache.

Reckon I owe subi a few beers, thanks mate 8-)
