Long Range Tank

Postby ratstriton on Tue Jan 12, 2010 3:47 pm

HI all
As you might know I was bidding on a long range tank on eBay and lost, so I contacted Ironman about availability of there long range tank and here is there reply.

Hi Tim
I believe the 140L Triton tanks have just arrive in Melbourne. They are $749
for the tank.

I haven't seen a ironman tank and i don't know what there quality is like so I can't comment on them, but for anyone looking at buying a long range tank at a reasonable price it could be the way to go . Also I think it''s the largest tank at 140L I have seen.

Tim.

At that price I would be very interested.

ratstriton, Adam is a friend of mine and a stand up guy - make an appointment to see him at the Westall rd store and have a good chat about your needs... He's not a pushy salesman...

Blue, I noticed in your shed you have a long range tank which I am interested in getting soon. Is yours an Ironman and how far down does it hang (the tank that is)

Not Ironman wt, was supplied pre-delivery but I couldn't tell you the brand - all I know is that it's 140L and hangs roughly an inch below the chassis... I was concerned when I saw it and Chaddy had one in with a long ranger 125L and it hung down roughly the same - since then I've bumped in to a couple of tri owners wit LR tanks, all of which hang below the chassis but I couldn't tell you the makes...

The email i got was 140l :? :? :? :? :? :? but 123l make more sense if sits only a inch lower,if it was bigger it would have to hang a lot lower.

Mine's 140L and only hangs an inch lower... I know for sure it isn't 125L because i put 132L in it at one stop on the way to Darwin...

How do you find these for filling?

My old Pootrol used to take like 20 minutes....if you held your mouth right.

My problem was in the height of the filler tube. It was almost horizontal and if you didn't get the angle of the dangle just so.... it would put in 150mls before clicking off...again....and again....

Quickest fill would have been 8-10 minutes.

n00b Question,

But do you have to fit a pump to these long range tanks? Or do they siphon into the main tank? Also, would they fit a Cab chassis OK?

They're replacement tanks rather than auxillary

The long range tanks are a replacement for the original. Increasing capacity from 75L to 125L. They fit into the same spot as the original and should come with all brackets etc for fitting. Cheers
