Found this I know it's a little off topic
I'm going into ARB tomorrow to ask

I was quite surprised to find out today that the guy at ARB didn't know what the rating of the bar was :o
Didn't think you would fit a 12,000lb winch on it
But did have the same opinion as Chopper in that 12,000 lb wasn't required on a triton

Dion on Overlander has it in writing (from ARB) that the ARB Sahara bar on his Pajero is only rated to a 9500lb winch.

I also asked at ARB today and he too told me the rating is 9500lb. He did go on to say that the cheaper winches probably aren't a true 12000lb anyway (I tend to agree)

He has never heard of a 9500lb winch bending the bullbar though.

Mooons, have you tried to loosen off the mounting bolts to see if it will come back straight? I think it may have just slipped on one side.

Haven't had time yet I have deff bull bar damage but I think not from winching
I have a buckle / crease in left wing just outside of winch mounting point
As I was in vehicle at the time it was hard to tell if wing was resting on anything as I winched
It's all part of 4x4ing I spose

I'm running a Warn XD9000 like yours Mooons, are you happy with it? Mine's ok, but I wouldn't say it's an outstanding winch. Good parts availability though, and reliable. Just unspool and rewind once a month and they are usually ok. Not especially waterproof I've found as well.

Some cheap winches could put you in a precarious position if they let go at the wrong time in a tricky recovery, that's what makes me baulk at having one.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.

Maintainence is the key
And I've been told a few times the best upgrade for the XD9000 is to swap out the motor for one off the 9500 ones more HP and a lot faster (new motor is about $500 so an old one off eBay may be worth looking for)

Don't take this the wrong way Mooons but there is a collective sigh of relief that this was not caused by your winch load.
