New model details?

Postby zen on Fri Feb 27, 2009 4:40 pm

I was pretty excited to read about a new Triton coming with a longer tray and 5 speed auto DiD, but my dealer said there is no such thing coming?
Can anyone confirm or deny this rumour?
Also interested in the TMR Triton but apparently they haven't decided on a price yet?!

Am looking to buy soon but want to wait for these developments if they are really coming?

It will be more than GLX-R with MRT remap and Bilst. shocks I'm guessing!

Yes it is coming with a longer tray.....180mm longer. Also TMR kits will be introduced and are currently going through ADR . So you can buy a VR and wack the kit on it.

I was speaking to an ARB store today and he confirmed the trays are to be made longer. ARB are making up a new canopy for them.

When will these be released??

A longer tray isn't much use without a longer chassis or perhaps longer wheel-base. I had the option of getting a longer alloy tray on ours, but didn't dare because of the constraints with chassis length and the hang past the rear wheels.

I would have thought the base underneath would have to change before they just make the tub longer..

I'm happy with the length of my tray and the overhang is getting bigger by the day

i think 170mm was quoted, which isnt much but will allow my set of outback drawers to fit in out of the MK triton i have at the moment, the existing tray on the latest triton would be touch an go.

the toughness of suspension and power from hyper common rail engine made it was well accepted among customers

Hmmm........

Not much info there on any changes other than the grill and bumper. Lucky it's got the tough suspension

I thought they were bringing them out on a Challenger model? I suppose once on them it should be an easy update.

Does any of youse suspension gurus have opinions on coilovers?

Ok guy's got some low down on the new model most good some possible bad :?

Wont be released by the looks of things until Sept/Oct :( but is meant to have ;

NT Pajero engine so 147Kw and 441Nm hopefully
5 Speeeeeeeed auto :D
Improved NVH levels
Couldn't say if it had revised seats

Super select as per currant model BUT mmal is considering DROPPING the option of DIFF LOCK ALTOGETHER :x :x
If this is the case I know a few members that wont be happy so start telling mmal what you think now otherwise you know what will happen
Longer tray is a definite but the guy who told me reckons it looks crap in the pics he saw on the big screen with soooo much overhang
Like I said to my mate who's a salesman at the stealers I can put an old model tray on but I can't do without the Locker .

Any idea what size tyres they will fit to the oz version?

Hopefully - yeah right- they will fit a larger tyre, than the current training wheels.

jop I think the only way to get mmal to change anything is from feedback from people like us so ring the input line or send em an email which I've done requesting the bigger tyres amongst other things ;)

Problem is now manufacturers are streamlining their models in an effort to cut costs so hence less choice for the customer

They will nearly need to increase the tyre size if they are going to put the NT engine (and outputs) into the triton driveline....

oh well looks like another email to the CEO, his details were on the mitsubishi webpage at one time.
