ECU reprogram

Postby nev08 on Wed Aug 13, 2008 7:52 pm

Was just wondering if any knows if mitsu stealers has ECU reprogram yet as i need to take the triton in for check up as its running like a hairy goat especially if you putit in 2nd or 3rd and hold the revs constant at 2500rpm for 50 meteres or so then back off for a few seconds then accelerate it hesitates, misses, shudders, bunny hops etc.
Just wanted to know anything relevant to this before i go to the dealer pretending i know more then i do. :?: ;)

Is there a hot fix for this problem ? The local stealers here are a bit slow.

Has anyone actually had the ECU reprogram for the diesel (surging/lurching/missing when cold etc) installed?

Had mine in for the 50k service two weeks ago . Went in running like a bag of bolts and came back running like a v8 I don’t know what they did but I’m very happy with it. They also said that the rear shocks where leaking and would call me when they came in for replacement under warranty.

Mine went in for the 45,000 service a week back, they did the ECU update and cleaned out the Intake and Throttle body, said it was about a quarter blocked with carbon etc.

Checked the fuel economy there, 110 kilometres and on the way back, still getting about 8 litres/100ks at 100kph, so it didn't wreck anything.

The injector rattle at around 2000 revs is gone, I think.

They also found the dreaded "Clunk" in the steering column and ordered one in so that will be done on Monday next week as well. It's a shame I have to travel so far to the dealer though, AH well he's a nice bloke so at least I get some interesting conversation while I'm waiting.

Just checked up on your location, not that far from Forbes? That's the problem out here, Doctors, Mitsubishi Dealers, Bunnings, Supa Cheap are all to far away.

Mine went in for its first service last week (a bit late like 2,000kms- waiting on ARB gear that was part of the purchase price) anyway noticably quieter at 1800- 2200 rpms, and fuel economy seems a bit better as well (although I did get a snorkle put on at the same time)

Just got back from a 1500km round trip and really enjoyed the vehicle, it just ate up the k's, especially the dirt.

After finally getting the stealer to admit that the "fix" had arrived, I am booked in tomorrow for the ECU reprogram. I have been told that they will run the program and clean out any carbon build ups.
No doubt had I not pestered them, they would just have waited until the next scheduled service.
I will post results tomorrow...fingers crossed

Ok Struggled to find this thread. I'm sure there was one other that I commented on. Here goes.

In to the Stealer today to have some work done. Asked for Upgrade on ECU program.

Result: As per Service printout.

"NS Pajero ECU Reprogram
Carry out work as per campaign bulliten
Checked in deacon for ECU reflash - vehicle is not affected
All OK"

WTF last I looked I got a Triton. Any Ideas? Funny thing is it felt better driving back anyway..

Sorry Jop missed this one . I get my servicing done at Nambour.
Over the last couple of week the surging thing has just started plus the fuel economy is starting to slip . I have drop about 80-100 kms per tank. 90000km service coming up soon so I will ask the dealer to sort this out then.
