hahahahaaaa - andyj haven't you worked out the reason for the Triton's curved mirrors is so the Subi's don't startle you when they overtake?!! 8-) 8-)

now if my memory serves me correctly I think TRIGLXR has a reversing camera?

Cheers!

Yes I do, mirror/screen and camera mounted on beside the number plate, very hand reversing into a parking bay as you can get within 2 inches of the car bahind, unless its a subaru, them just hit it.
The rear view mirror is also the camera, screen switched of and its a mirror, hit reverse and the screen comes on

Reversing Cameras

Hi Guys,

I installed one of these. Bought it from Supercheap $249-00 on sale. Mounted it on the rear number plate and apart from a little lines every now & then it works great.

It is a wireless camera unit & while driving around the streets I thought it was faulty always coming on & then I realised I was picking up peoples security camera footage8-) 8-) 8-)

Cheers

Dont know but if you could but would have to invest in some serious plastic sheeting for the interior. And get the front windows tinted

Reversing Cameras

I have an acer camera on mine. I needed something good enough for me to reverse on to the off road hitch on my van without any assistance, this one is terrific I can line up the holes for the pin to drop straight in, It has a good clear screen 100mmx75mm infared camera, microphone I can hear the missus abusing me as she stands behind the truck, and the monitor will take two cameras if you want one on the back of the van as well, comes on when you hit reverse or manual switch it on and use it as rear view mirror[seeing i dont have one].See my profile for pics. cheers chris

Reversing Cameras

Postby NowForThe5th on Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:41 pm

OK so in the photo it looks like a green MK but it really is a Red Planet ML with an ARB canopy.

I'm in the process of fitting all the accessories and about to start on the reversing camera. I don't want to put it underneath so it won't get dirty. As far as I can see there are only two choices 1) above the rear window through the canopy or, 2) through the tailgate (below the diamonds). The first is my preferred choice, I think, although there are issues getting the camera to face down enough given the canopy slopes back (well, forward really, but back away from the back - you know what I mean!)

Question is has anybody else installed one and where?
Chris

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

A mate of mine has installed his reverse camera in the hole where you crank the spare wheel down from in his navara, he used cable ties to hold it in place for easy removal if he gets a flat

Mine is on the number plate frame.
Spent most of my money on booze, women, guns, utes, motorcycles, fishing & boats.

I wasted the rest!

Mine is fitted at number plate height but offset to the passenger side.
Had to drill a couple of holes but its up out of the way and protected.

The camera unit is housed in metal and waterproof. Not sure of the brand though.
