Yep I agree. I am sure there aren't too many MN's with 30000K's on the clock claiming bad fuel issues in Wagga. I know what the bastards are like and any excuse to walk away from the problem they will take it.
Keen to get amongst it!!

I have a MY12 single cab work ute, it gets 500K from 60Litres diesel.
It does have toolboxes etc and carries weight all the time but expected better......

My ML V6 gets more K's per tank/60L

Yeah probably wouldn't be posting stuff like that up on the public forum...
Not every car is made the same, you can have two identical cars and one be 9lt 100ks and the next one 13 lt 100ks, I've found that the more ks they get on them the better the fuel economy is. Especially after the 30k service (valve clearances) just gets better from there
I'm one for believing they still make diesel so drive it till ya need to fill it and fill up again ;)

Just put that into perspective I got 370 js out of 62 litres yesterday. Admittedly I was towing 2.5 tonne caravan sitting on 95kph most of the way and that's from an MN 2010 2.5l diesel. So I don't get why your work ute is so bad.

I have a 400L diesel tank on the back which is full most of the time, generator, motor and vibrator needle,
Lots of large tools like 4' bolt cutters, big socket set, drills, grinders etc. etc.

Would be every bit of a tonne when the tank is full.

Plus the toolboxes and generator stick well above the cabin so lots of wind drag there.

Different climates and different drivers makes it hard to compare two vehicles......

I think an often overlooked factor in fuel economy is using the a/c.

With it stinking hot up here at the moment mine gets a good work out. Couple that with low air density, high ambient temperatures and high humidity and good fuel economy gets even harder to achieve.

When air temp's get down below 25 C, mine feels a good bit more sprightly too, so it does affect efficiency.

Still can keep it in the 9's though :) , but not with the bigger set of tyres I use offroad sadly.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.

If it's feral, it's in peril.

MN turbo lag? What lag??

I'm finding mine is getting better after 30k service ;) Even with all the wheeling over the weekend at zig zag and running my 32'' muddies Im getting record braking figures for me atm. :D
