Price For 30K Service

You guys should give the servicing thing ago, Its not to hard. Most things these day are easier to maintain than years ago due to being computer controlled.
Shit most of the time its just an oil change and filter general top up of liquids and once over. And the tappet clearence can be done - it not to hard.
More money saved = more to spend on the the TRON

a dealer cannot void your warranty if it has had regular servicing by a licensed mechanic, are you talking to a salesperson LINKO?

I might just start getting my oil changes done by them too they don't charge very much and if it means I keep roadside assistance that'll save me $140/year. Its just a pisser cos I really don't trust them.

I'll speak with him today and see what he says.

You'll be glad of that Sam, cos those sparkplugs that take a HT lead and an injector line are really REALLY expensive.......
Just get them done next time mate........

Here in Un Zed, 15k servicing, unless being used in harsh conditions, where they cut time in half. Mine gets done every 10-12k, as I personally reckon 15 is too long.

I rang up for a quote on the 30000km service (even though I've done just over 36000kms) and nearly fell off my chair when Mitsubishi said $870!!!

So she's off to Ultra Tune for a $400 service on Wednesday. Jeez, does Mitsu think we're made of money or what?!?!?!

You're shitting me! I get the impression WA dealers are ripping people off because there's a boom on.

Said "boom". WA is ripping people off regardless - it's not limited to dealers. At the job I'm at, it's costing almost twice as much in materials than it would in NSW. We even flew electricians over from NSW who are getting increased rates and living away from home allowances and still getting costing us less than it would to have sub-contracted a WA mob. I'm not talking marginally less either.. 1.5 million less. Some companies are trying very hard to abuse this "boom".

Bayside in Brisbane the stealer wants to charge $800, or $600 without the valves being checked.... TAKING THE PISS.........
the garage NEXT door, log book stamped $220. The savings go to the second battery.

I know yours is diesel, but I just changed oil and filter on my petrol (at 3000k's as I reckon you need to get any running in metals out of the sump before 15000Ks!!!) and total cost was $24 for filter (genuine) and gasket and $36 for semi-synthetic Shell oil (had Shell on the factory sticker).

The dearest oil around (Mobil 1 full synthetic etc) is about $70, so you should find good oil for the did for $40 or so. If the filter is around $30 bucks, I'd buy the oil and filter from the parts section beside the service desk and save $40!!

Just got my 30K done this morning, including replacing front brake pads, rotating tyres, rear spring silencer kit (warranty) , hooked up oil gauge sender (gauge i fitted)
Oils were $108.89 Oil Filter $ 57.53 Front Pads $138.92 all up invoice charge $556.92. Truck got a full valet while they had it, in for 1/2 day.

I'm happy. As a side note they want it back next week to replace the power steering pump (warranty). I can't feel anything wrong with the steering but it has been "Breathing" through the oil tank reservoir (front of engine bay - slightly oily). They are replacing ALL power steering pumps on trucks that come in and they have been pressurizing/breathing out of the oil reservoir......... time to have a look in the engine bay boys
If you're in control, you ain't going fast enuff!
