Hully's ML

Hi all,

I got my stock ML August last year, and since then I've been on this site stealing ideas for what i can do to my car. So after a few mods i thought it was time to start a build thread and hear what you all think about it.... so far.

I was looking a dual cab ute for quite a while, and after a lot of research I had my heart set on the Triton. After narrowly missing out on dealer cars, i jumped at an opportunity that was too good to miss. My father recieved an email from his company saying that their triton was sale... I put a deposit down straight away. It was an White 07 ML with 85,000 on the clock for $21,000.... :D

and managed to get them to detail it aswell....

after an introduction to 4wding i decided that i was in need for some new tyres...

And hearing all the good things everyone on here as been saying about Ultimate, i thought i better jump on the bandwagon and get new suspension aswell... very happy with the results.

Then my birthday came around, and my girlfriend being as wonderful as she is got me some genuine Triton neoprene seat covers, and my parents got me a UHF, recovery gear, and portable air compressor.

I've got a safari snorkel on order, though i was told there's none in the country at the moment, waiting till June for it to come in... when thats done i should be able to tackle more things than this..

Currently looking at the ARB deluxe bar and spotlights.....

Looking good mate ;)

Might even pay to look into the MCC bars, reckon they'll be cheaper than the ARB ones (freaking expensive things they are)

Look forward to more shot of it in action
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

Like the colour of your ute mate! :D

Also like where you put the UHF; gives me food for thought.

As much as I'd like to take the credit for the placement of the UHF Mongrel, I saw it first in someones shed, can't remember who's though.

Giancarlo, the seat covers came from the local Mitsubishi dealer.

Looking good Hully.......good onya. 8-)

If it is 4wding your getting into as opposed to long k's touring on the road..............I would perhaps look at a rear protection bar before the front bar.....it would easily cop more of a hammering off road than the front end ;)

Good luck with it all

It's been a while since I've update this build, and I guess a while since I've made any changes to the Ute.

Since my initial post I've added the snorkel, IPF lights, and a set of Baysies bash plates.

.... and I've just a very busy weekend building drawers with dad.

I originally planned on taking the rear seats out and building a set of drawers, with fridge in the back. However the logistics of it was going to be harder then I first thought.

Luckily I scooped up a great deal, that was posted in the eBay thread, and managed to get a Mitsubishi canopy, brand new, white, and still in the box and for only $830! So instead of tearing my hair out trying to figure out the back seat idea, i went with drawers for the tray instead.

The base is attached by four screws that were already in the tray, we just got longer ones..

just have to tidy up some of the edges, but other then that it's all ready to be put to use.

I was able to get all the supplies from the local bunnings, which reached about $250.

very happy with the outcome.

I had my ARB deluxe bar, colour coded to match the flares arrive on Friday, but unfortunately ran out of time on the weekend, and I have to shoot off to Darwin tomorrow for work for two weeks so that's put on hold until i get back.

Looks great mate, good job. Are you going to seal/paint your drawers? I made a drawer/fridge setup earlier this year, had fun making them too!
