Drove it today and loved it......
Agreed on a 3.9 diff though.

If I had more cash I'd be placing my order tomorrow for a base model manual twin cab with flat tray....

Disappointed at no diff lock on base model.
Is it still LSD on rear?

Ive taken both the Manual and Auto for a drive with my digger on the back..

Hated the 6 speed, I stalled it getting out the dealership. Hill starts were even harder than with my MN.
The ride was nice, GLX model had DL. Power was ok. Drove on open road and thought it was a bit slow off the mark.

The Auto was much better for towing 2 ton around. Was quite impressed with it, till I put the digger back on my chipped MN and headed home thinking, shit my MN has more snot and easier to drive!

Going to struggle to upgrade at the moment due to new shape on tray and bumper with no new Canopies and Bars available just yet, haven't looked into the chip yet.

On a side note, took the 2015 auto Colorado for a spin, probably had more get up and go with digger. Interior was wider feeling. but its more than $10k dearer, plus add $12k of accessories and they offered $22k for my 2010 MN with 75k on it... Bit dear to go the Holden route.

Is it the same diff as earlier models?
LSD centre from an older one swapped in with 3.9 gears and a Lokka on the front would be awesome....

Lets get to the real question for those who have tested one. Can I actually get a water bottle in this thing or am I still restricted to an egg cup?

Missed the boat here with the engine. They really needed to hit us up with a 5 or 6 cylinder engine to take on ranger BT50 and be the ute of choice for towers and tradies.

Obviously happy to accept the second rung in the 4x4 ute category. Probably good value for money.
Shame because it looks good. Really just another MN with a few changed panels and motor. Same chassis I hear.
Really needed a full overhaul to be a great seller. IMHO
Bigger body, bigger engine of at least 3lt to 3.5lt maybe V6 diesel.

I think that is your wish list more so than market demand.
Majority of buyers will not want a bigger motor or a body the size of a BT50/Ranger.

Majority of buyers in the Aussie market are not the private guy but Miners, Fleet buyers, Hire companies.

Why does everyone think the Ranger is SUCH a big truck?? It isn't an F250, now they are big!! It is quite comparable in size to all the other dual cabs, not that much in it to warrant worrying about is there?

Ranger have a 3.2L 5 cylinder don't they? They don't go that well against a stock standard Pajero up hills.....
V8 cruisers are slower than a stock standard Triton away from the lights......

Just sayin there's more to it than just how many litres the donk is..... ie turbo, power to weight ratio etc
Don't rate a car off the specs sheet ;)

True, CD, but the same would apply to other makes. TBH there were a couple of surprises there for me. For example I always thought the Amarok was second only to the Ranger in length. Not even close.

Someone else can do the research on wheelbases. That might show some interesting variations.

I think my MN is long enough, at small shopping center parking lots it always stick out of the line. But it's significantly narrower than a Mondeo. The height is tall enough. Many local shopping center only has 2-2.1m height restriction so anything higher than 1.8m stock + lift + bigger tyres + roof rack will not get passed.

IMO, 350nm-400nm is enough for a 2t vehicle if the numbers work in the right way. Of course if you need to tow 2t often you'd better need another 100nm or so. But I believe something can be significantly improved by fitting a bigger exhaust or get a software re-calibration. The V6 D40 STX costs $10k+ more than the 4 cyl ST with few things you may not really need. You may just spend part of those money to upgrade the powerline to a closed level then still get few grands change for something you really want? Being a RWD dual cab ute (most of the time), I am not yet quite convinced if you can comfortably transfer all that 550nm of power in the real world on the road...... Or, like All4Adventure said on their video, if you really want to tow a heavy load on tough terrain, the best way is to get a LC200 with its 650nm V8........

BTW, anyone knows if the rear DL on the MQ is vacuum or electro?
