I have no idea the history of my triton and ECU updates or anything of that nature.
are they worthwhile to get done ?
The SQL recalibrates the small squirt (for lack of better term) of diesel that is injected prior to the main injection to start the combustion in the cylinder, the reason for the small injection is to reduce 'diesel knock'.
I always find my car is quieter and smoother after the SQL is done, should be done every 15000
My car has developed a loud rattle/clatter ( diesel knock? ) under light load over the last 6mth ( MN bought new in 2010 ) , most noticable at a constant throttle at 100kmhr on a flat hwy. If I put my foot down, go up a hill or load up the motor it goes away ?
I've had the dealer do SQL the last 2 services with nil effect, have also tried a few different brand injecter cleaner also. I have just been given the mitsu bottle of injector cleaner to try.
anyone else had this ? or have an opinion on something else to look at ?
