New Here

Postby danrocks on Tue Dec 29, 2009 3:11 pm

Hi everybody, im new to new triton.net, and new to triton ownership. Although my Triton wouldnt be classed as new, it is new to me, so im hoping that counts enough for me to be here.
My name is Dan, I'm from Perth, I live with with my almost 6 yr old daughter, who loves 4wdriving as much as me.
I recently traded in my 1992 nissan Terrano on a 2005 mk Triton gls. the Terrano was alot of fun, and served me well, im hoping the Triton will be the same.
The main reason i have joined this site, is because I'm assuming a good percentage of you guys would be ex owners of the earlier model such as mine, and im hoping theres a wealth of info available.
And if this Triton serves me well, I will will probably end up with a later model one eventualy.
thats enough from me for now, I will post a pic when i work out how to do it.
Cheers.

Welcome to the site Dan I am sure you'll come across some interesting info on the site as I have and it is interesting to see the amount of overseas members that are coming on line. The UK mob are about 12 months ahead of us with models etc. Hope you had a good xmas and all the best for the new year. :D

I gotta admit, that was the first style of 4x4 ute I was looking to get... A guy at work has a gun metal grey unit... I reckon they look schmick... But no auto, cruise etc... led me to the dark side... (And no Jop and Alco Im not Im not getting back into the closet  )

No Auto? mines auto.
I have to admit, i was never a fan of auto's, and i always thought a 4wd with auto would be crap, but im loving it, makes things so much easier (yes, im getting lazy in my old age).
i did look at other brands of utes, but here in WA, its hard to find a 2005 4x4 ute for under $20000 that isnt trashed, or just a poverty pack work ute.
so Triton it is for me.

danrocks, Not sure mate... maybe in the later models but I couldnt get it as an option when I first looked. Any die hard Mitsu fans care to elaborate?

Welcome to the site danrocks. Love the MK's mate, yours looks smick!
When were you looking at them Quinny? I bought my MK new in 2000.
It was a manual but an auto was an option then................................... I think 8-)

2003/4 I think... Maybe they had Auto's but no cruise, cant quite remember... It was a few items that let it down once I got right into it. Was comparing to the Lux and the Fords, Nissans etc... then the new Triton came out just before I got the first Lux I think.

Welcome to the site mate, Your ute looks great hey. There is a fair few blokes over your way in the west, you may be able to catch up for a drive some time.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.
