Roof? So are they cutting out the roof panel?
Re respray, wouldn't the whole body get sprayed to ensure everything matches?
That photo doesn't really show all the damage - just the big ones.
Yes, roof will be cut out and replaced. On a Paj that's a big job. The roof liner is held in by the trims on the pillars and to get them out the seats have to come out first. So, basically, whole interior. Then they'll replace the roof rails and repair the cant rails and paint those, blending down into the quarters. New bonnet and guards which have to be blended in to the front doors. That just leaves the tailgate and rear doors, one of which I did a couple of years ago.
What they haven't yet realised is that the bullbar has to come off as well, so headlights can be removed to access the bolts for the guards.
Guess there'll be a supplementary for those.
If I was doing it, I'd do the rear doors as well, at least in clear, to maintain consistent peel. Assessor agreed that a spray painter is the
worst customer - picks every fault, because he knows what to look for. I promised to live up to his expectation.
Quote is for $15K. Good thing I have insurance. Interesting thing is that the repairs are guaranteed for life. That's a lot better than what MMA offered and reassuring since I intend to keep this one.
