New MN Triton Luxury

Postby Marty V on Tue Oct 05, 2010 11:54 am

Hey guys...

I'm sure some of you already know that there is a new Luxury Edition available...Its similar to the old ML GLS...

There are 2 option packs available on the updated MY11 MN...

CW6 Luxury Pack - Factory leather, Auto Climate Control and Electric drivers seat ($3,500)

CT8 Luxury Pack with MMCS (sat/nav) - As above + MMCS ($6,500)

There is also a new colour called Charcoal which looks pretty cool...to my eyes the MN Gun Metal had a slight blue tinge to it where this doesnt...

And come in an auto only :( I'm surprised there is still a few floating about as were made in limited numbers. Or the dealer told me porkies when I was looking.

That's ok Fruitcake - I was going to send a nasty message to BornGeek after he disparagingly referred to a white triton as "Fairy White"

That was before I realised it is the actual name for the factory colour...

Sorry BG for misintent!!!

I was told the same late last year. Guess they saw the error of their ways and decided to make a few more. The leather/power seat is nice and all as is the climate control but if I had the option of shelling out 3 grand for the MMCS I'd be buying some really nice Alpine gear instead.

What they should offer is a retro fit seat pack!

Take back the sh*&*ty seats out of the MLs and provide a decent replacement as a factory recall.

I've never had a vehicle where my backside hurts after a longer trip.

My opinion is leather is even more uncomfortable as they have to trim using a harder foam to get the leather to stay tight.
Does look and smell nice and not that much extra for both packs... Would love climate control I miss it!

Does the electric drivers seat have 2 or more position memories? That would make it worthy!

can't remember if it has memories, I'm the only one who drives mine so the issue has never arisen - well until yesterday when the mechanics moved it and stuffed everything up anyway. If my memory improves I will try and check tonight unless Marty V chimes back in with the answer.

They're available in manual Cowboy... And there are no memory functions...In fact none of the Mits have them...Even the Exceed doesnt...

...And on the colour thing...I often walk out into our yard and think that it looks a bit bland but those days of bright yellows etc seemed to have past by...

Personally i like the new MY'11 Charcoal better than the MY'10 Gunmetal but thats just me...

I should get some clarification on this because we were told they are limited...Last years edition was only about 125 cars nationally...The strange thing is that its now in the official pricing booklet which doesnt normally happen with special editions...Also in MY'10 you could option MMCS on a GLX-R... Seems now you can only get the MMCS as part of the Luxury pack and not as a stand alone option...This basically means that you have to have the leather and auto climate no matter if you want it or not just to get the MMCS...and pay for it...

Thanks Marty!

Electric seats with no memory setting... dumb :|

Those changes to MMCS sound a bit concerning.. forcing consumers hand is a bit silly.. options sell!

sorry confused a bit too... so luxury pack available in auto AND manual or JUST auto?

cheers BG :ugeek:

Standard diff lock.
Thats starting to make the $3600 look very attractive.

Oh well MMA listened, or are trying to protect sales from the updated hilux and upcoming VW.

Good news for those interested in a new vehicle.

Now all they need is some body styling differences- like the challenger lights and rims (tyre size) 8-)

MMA keep listening

That luxury pack sounds great! I will be ordering a new MN June/July next year and I am deffinately going to get this option! Knowing what I know now I am going to get all the fruit pre delivery ie Bull bar, rear bar, steps, lift and tyres! Not to worried about the memory in the seat as I am the only one driving the car! Now if they would only go back to the 3.2L engine.....

We should look to get a group buy happening- I'm also up for a new on in June July next year- current lease runs out.

Mind you the competition is making me have a serious look at the oposition.....

I thought this was the new luxury model of the MN Triton, but the steering wheel in that pic has a despicable blue oval in the middle of it.

My lease is up then too 26! Perhaps a group buy might be a goer as we will be buying two as we did with the ML's 3 years ago! I will be serioulsy looking at the new BT50 as well maybe even the Ranger but I just couldn't bring myself to drive a ford though

same here, i got the MN when they first came out last year, mine has alll the fittings minus the ipod cable.

i got my MN for the same price as i would a new GLXR with a 8 week wait at the time, i think mine had 1500km on it, and the extras were claimed to be a $5500 extra. it has black leather. personally i wouldn't go the sat nav, its crap i still use my navman and i phone over it. good to have the bluetooth and DVD but i have never used the DVD as you can;t whilst moving. i have searched everywhere for a fix for this even though it is illegal i know. but who cares really. the leather is good but the front drivers seat is terriable with too much rear movement and no rear pockets in back of front seats.

worth the upgrade but ditch the DVD and sat Nav as it not worth it, if you could.

my 2 cents worth do not have anything to do with the mmcs for what you get /pay for you would be better of finding the cheapest most useless hand held gps smashing it into a thousand pieces and you would still have something more useful than the mmcs system my thoughts steve

I agree totally on the MMCS. It's my only regret with buying the Triton. Totally useless pos that can't even do ipod without having to buy an extra item from resource it. The navigation is basic at best for a modern system, and 5 yearly updates is way too infrequent for a city that is changing as fast as most modern cities do now. Even the best GPS units aren't much more than $500 for windscreen style. That leaves a lot of change for a good stereo system and a reverse camera monitor, which are the only other real features the MMCS has.
I do however LOVE my reverse camera. Hands down the best mod I've made to any vehicle ever.

Agreed on the MMCS, and I've had my rant before about what a useless piece of sh$t that it is! It doesn't even have my street or suburb listed on it and don't even get me started (again) on fuel watch.

I was asked if I wanted the luxury pack and i said no. To be honest spending that sort of coin would go better towards kitting it out. iPod connection is through the glove box with a cord that you have to wrap up around the phone or you squash the lead if you have your phone out. You can't change anything with the playlist if you're moving and the sound is definitely muted in comparison to the radio or CD. I would have seriously considered it though had the seats been given lumbar support, bloody kills my back after a days 4WD'ing (probably doesn't help have ive fractured my spine previously but meh   )

Having said this, I love the Bluetooth and steering wheel options for voice control commands and auto dialing, that's brilliant and probably saved me easily a couple of hundred with copper fines! They are truly ruthless here in the ACT.

But each to their own. Wouldn't mind seeing some new colours... I think MMA learnt their lesson with that bronzed baby pooh brown though :?

I completely love my triton don't get me wrong but luxury packs and work trucks dont really go hand in hand in m opinion. Best saved for a really big luxury item like a DB9 or R8 8-)
