Roo Lights

Postby warnzie on Mon Feb 09, 2009 5:13 pm

Sorry if im dusting up a thread which has been posted before, had a look at roo lites the other day...YES not as good quality a Light Force as i was comparing the 2 but in terms of price and quality i felt they wern't that bad - others may diagree :) As to be honest i won't be doing anything to strenous with my triton - at the moment fraser, rainbow and moreton are on the list so i suppose i won't need anything to top of the line. Anyone got any on their triton...any reviews/thoughts to make up my mine?

Cheers

Nathan

More than happy with my Roo Lite's. However would suggest that you upgrade relay, have heard that they do not last. They are a few posts about installing using the fog light switch to activate on/off. I use this method and find It is quite simple.

I some it up this way:

If they get stolen - they are alot cheaper than light force
If you hit a roo and happen to take a light or lights out - they are alot cheaper than light force
They light up the same or just as good as alight force - they are alot cheaper than light force

For the money you do get a great performing light.

You could always check out this site http://www.4wddirect.com.au/scart/html/328.html ... they seem fairly well priced etc.

thanks for everyones replies, to be honest im very hesitant about getting lightforce not because of price because they are a proven and quality light, but because of the waste of spaces around in this world who think they can take things that arn't theirs. Just another question, i like the 220mm roo lites, is there any issue regarding air flow to radiator ect? Im a expert about these things as you can tell

I've had no issues with airflow on the same setup. Having said that, once the car gets a bit older and wear and tear start to run their course, who knows!!!

I got the 170 or 180 size -( too drunk at the moment to remember ) found range and brightness great. looked at the price ($250 @b TJM ) and and thought no matter what happens at that price cant go wrong. Mounted on Nudge bar so thought 220s might look a bit wankerish. They look great and not out of place. Only issues, 1. The nudge bar causes a little vibration on rough roads, not lights fault just the bar has too much flex, highway OK. 2. They do turn adjustment on rough roads by themself. ZGoing to put a cable tie on them to lock in. Covers do cause some reflection in your face, but extensive driving I take them off. The lens is plastic so wont shatter anyway.

I have them on my ute, i find them great, the only thing i recomend is the blue filters, makes the light a lot more crisper. i paid about $225 at autobarn.
