We now have OVERBOOST

Postby boostedbmw on Wed Mar 11, 2009 1:52 pm

Ok my wife just rang me and said the car has lost power and the check engine light is on. I guess i reached max boost. Will i have to take it to the dealer to get the computer reset?

Hey BoostedBMW. You may want to look at purchasing one of these. They can help clear error codes without the dealers help. Also provide a number of other features.
FSC, Can I have the spotters fee for this one. Could be a good chance of a sale. ;)
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!

If you turn the engine off and re-start it, the engine light will still be on, but if nothing else is wrong it should be able to be driven normally until you can have the code reset :?

i bought a cheap ass OBD-II off ebay, it does not work with my car computer program centrafuse, it only works with the program supplied. but you can still use it to clear error codes and check other diagnostics.

I disconnected the earth strap for 5 mins and it was gone. I also turned the boost down now. Just shows how much better the exhaust helps the turbo flow.

i actually found mine tucked under the seat the other day, i might have another go at getting it to work, the problem i had was it came with a cracked demo of Scan Xl, i downloaded the full cracked version and it would not work and it recognised it was a cheap knock off.

Still waiting mate...

It uses the CAN-BUS protocol which is supposed to be compatible with Centrafuse... I will keep you's updated when I get it...

Looking forward to it. I hope it goes well. Most of the systems I've looked at start around the $150-$200 mark. Less than $50 sounds great. 8-)
