We found there was a large difference between Hilux and Triton. The mate's hilux was spot on 10L/100 for most of our trip to Qld whilst the triton was constantly on 12's. Both carrying similar weight in the back and towing campers. :( Jesus! Did he gloat. :roll:

Our outback trip saw both Tritons (07 and 09 ML - one chipped, one not) using at least 15%, often more, fuel than a brand-new SR Hilux. All three were towing trailers, but both Tritons DID have roofracks & a spare wheel on top, whereas the Hilux didn't. Not sure they would have equaled the Hilux in consumption without the racks though :?
