Removal of head unit

Postby Henk Bos on Thu Apr 10, 2008 8:57 pm

Well, I know about the 4 little holes and have been poking myself (not literally) mindless tonight. Is there a certain combination (like left two or upper two) or what?

Subiman, to the rescue please. After all, it's your fault that I ordered the cable ;)

Push the 2 removal tools in each side (I'm assuming you got them with the truck, didn't you?), pull slightly apart whilst pulling towards you and Hey Presto, out pops headunit.

Removal tool???? Are you serious zip?

Mitsubishi Australia don't even give you a case for the vehicle hand book....mine was in a plastic ziplock bag and a crappy manilla folder.

Let alone giving you a specialised tool like that, free of charge!

You missed out Freestyle i received a nice case it has couple of pockets and business card holder. But you will find the cases are supplied by the dealer these days not the manufacturer.

Guys,

I used two wooden satay skewers - high quality Japanese tools (though not supplied by Mitsubishi).

Anybpdy got clues on the gls headunit.. It has no where to stick things in. And i have had a little feel around the sides with a thin piece of metal with no luck

Ok.. Got it.. Do need to remove centre surround.
1 screw in drivers footwell and 1 clip on drivers side.
Passenger side has 4 clips and takes a wee bit of jiggling to clear a/c control section.. Yay!
