New Exhaust - Yeeehaaaa 3"

Postby ML-VR08 on Thu Oct 02, 2008 3:15 pm

Ok - just letting you guys know got my exhaust fitted today by Redmans in Hervey Bay. I will start by saying the turbo on these things really spool hard! Turbo kicks in heaps earlier and holds for alot longer. Next to no smoke out the back now and sounds unreal....its a full 3" mandrel bent system using bends etc and custom made to suit! I will try and post some pics and videos of what it sounds like! But it is very impressive...

What did that set ya back if you don't mind?
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!

It ain't pretty being easy!!

Adjusted the chip to setting 'B' again and wow - it goes alot harder now...and still alot of smoke etc but i think i can put up with that! The power is unreal, torque curve has changed a bit but it seems to sit on 100kms really easy and it feels like a totally different car! Sounds alot like a truck also...turbo is noticable at idle and sitting on around 60km/h the revs are around 1300rpm so its less restrictive now!

Haha im trying my hardest without damaging anything...or pissing off the dealers! Already got problems with the tyres etc...so im unsure weather they should keep servicing the car or not? I was going to get someone else to do the ECU upgrade etc...

Can i ask why so cheap?

i was looking into a new exhaust a while back and from memory it was around $1100 for a 3in from the turbo back.

Do you know someone who fits them?

Yeah my Girlfriend is mates with his daughter so i managed to swing a deal with him...plus he is a total rev head and i bet $50 that i would beat him in a drag - he has a D40 Navara?? Not sure what he has done to his...but seems pretty fair!!! This exhaust has no mufflers just a tiny cat...and i mean tiny...blink along the exhaust and you will miss it lol...

awsome shit, i wish i could bring my triton there.... haha

3" exhaust can be bought for $200, the full cat though should be custom made, depending on your setup..... thus i recommend doing that in australia.... but exhaust can be bought anywhere...

anyways mate do u know the DB limit for exhaust in australia??

Just sold a d40 navara auto to update to a manual vr triton. The navara was running a steinbauer chip and off the lights the manual triton would not stay with it as it is in std form. Although once up and going the triton would walk away rolling onto a hill at 70km/h or above. Cant wait to get the re flashed chip back.
