Yea. It is an auto and with the mods I have I expect to take a hit with economy. Just wondered if it was a bit high.
I have had high egts I can hit 600 on a medium pull. That's without chip.
I've done filters at 45k service and had SQL
Wondered if a sticky scv could be problem. Also have old manifold with maf off it.
Not bad for an old bloke

You need to move the MAP sensor port so post EGR. Just blank the old one off and tap a 1/8 barb in just behind the TB.

When I get time, I'll send you a PM with something else that may help you.

Hi, MY13 (2012) Triton, dealer can't get the surging to be reproduced in there 20 minute drive around the suburbs (happens most frequently after a lil while on the freeway, light throttle with cruise on) so did another sql, sure enough as i hit the freeway it starts "chugging", does this with no chip, or surging (taking off?) with chip in. Am i right in presuming it's the scv? Valves have been done, maf cleaned, filter cleaned, dunno what else it could be? Another dealer quoted $517 for a scv for a my13, can someone tell me where it is located on the engine so i can identify it and try to shop around? Found something front LHS of engine block that looks like the pics posted earlier, but it seems quite large and grey in colour? Any special tricks/tools with changing one out and will it need another sql? Help much appreciated.
Cheers

Have a partial egr blank (one with hole), would be covered by warranty but dealer can't find a problem when they have the car so understandably reluctant to just throw parts and labour at it, and I'm not finding the time to take it there often enough or leave it with them until its fixed. Had the car since january, problem started after the 30k service and sql, now has 38k. Happy to do myself if I know what I'm looking at or for.
Will try the fuel conditioner, any particular recomendationd?
Much appreciated

Mitsubishi have a fuel conditioner.
Ask for it at the spare parts counter......about $10 a bottle.
Relatively cheap if you ask me.

I use diesel conditioner by flash lube I put it in every 5 tank fulls or so
U can hear the difference 1 litre lasts for ages. I put 60ml per 60l car runs smoother too.

Also if you're after the part yourself you'll find it much cheaper on ebay than what the dealer has quoted you.

I'd try taking the blank plate out first. When blanked some MN's will surge under those conditions you've described.

Thanks, will give it a try. Was chipped/exhausted/blanked at 20k km, was absolutely fine until the valves/manifold/sql was done at 30k, have heard chips can cause premature sticking of scv, will try the fuel additive over the weekend, then take out the blank.
Once again, thanks all for the replies. Will work through all suggestions and let ya know how I go. Fingers crossed!

I have just replaced my blank with an alternative and my surging at those conditions you describe has disappeared. The SCV did not help in my case.

There is an alternative to the blank plate available in the platinum area.

Pretty sure Mattz put his in without using the computer. Ebay or a dealer are your best bet for supplies.

Cowboy Dave is correct.
I installed it myself and haven't had a problem since.
I figured if I wasn't happy after the install I could take it into Mitsubishi and get a SQL done.

Just out of interest what symptoms are you showing?

Thanks guys i will try myself.

Symptoms:
While driving between 2000-2800rpm. (approximately) revs are sort of pulsing and engine is making this funny noise whroom,whroom,whroom...,and then engine light usually goes on. Is not happening all the time, but often enough to make me go crazy!!!
do you guys think it maybe it (SCV)?

That code suggests it could be your fuel rail pressure limiter. I'd be getting that looked at, it's not a part you want letting go on you.

Just be very careful of the O ring and dont touch any part (with fingers) that goes into the pump and you will be fine. 8-) They run without SQL.
