I bit the bullet, a couple of weeks ago and spent a few hundred dollars required to purchase a new SCV to try and fix an excess smoke problem I was having.
Before replacing it, I had mixed reports whether I needed an injector relearn or as its otherwise known a SQL (small quantity learn) (I think that's what it stands for
)
Some people said no......others said sometimes and others definitely.
So on there advice I whacked it in to see how it would go.
Luckily it was money well spent and fixed the smoke problem, reduced fuel consumption and it seems to be running fine.
It looks like I got away without having to get a SQL.
The interesting thing, when I removed the SCV was the o-ring on the SCV appeared a little perished or damaged.
which has got me wondering if the o-ring was replaced would it be ok?
I'll chase up an o-ring and might even swap it back over when I get a chance and see what happens.
