If you believe it then bring proof ;-)

Sorry mate, but absolutely no f@#king way they would allow that!! Too much of a safety issue.

Edit:// OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!! Looky what I found within a few minutes on the net
Love to know where you get you're info from :? :?

4.2.3 Clearance
No part of the wheel must touch any part of the body, chassis, steering, braking system or
suspension under any operating condition. To check this, the vehicle must be fully laden and
capable of negotiating raised obstacles that would normally be encountered whilst driving such
as speed humps and driveway entries. This test should be conducted from lock to lock without
any part of the rim or tyre contacting any other part of the vehicle. Test weight for passengers is
68kg plus 15kg per person for luggage where luggage space is provided.
Section LS Tyres, Rims, Suspension and Steering
Version 2.0 – 1 January 2011 Page 21/LS85
The wheels must be contained within the bodywork, or mudguards (including flares) when the
wheels are in the straight ahead position.

Steering and/or suspension stops must not be modified to provide clearance for wheels.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

fridgie on a mission

No way would queensland have that law, when they are equal worst in the country for wheel/tyre mods, and especially with the NCOP coming in.

Put up or shut up I say. Lets see it in writing.

my mate who just got his shorty gq patrol engineered has a booklet of the new laws which the engineer gave him and it has something to do with 4x4's widening there tracks for more stability which allows up to 1" outside the guards, and by what you just told me full lock and under load my wheels hit no where on the body, chassis, braking system or suspension, so i should have no problem undergoing a machinery.

That's interesting as going over track puts more stress on the hubs.

you guys can hate on me all you want but i have 15x7 -20 with 33" tires on a 2011 triton with minimal poke (which truck flaring will fix) i don't see the big blow up? there for the myth of not being able to fit 15's on a triton is not true, end of story.

Let it go Joel.
I can't think of a single reason they would allow the tyres to exceed the guards mate. My muddies do and I understand that is illegal and will cop the issues if and when they get me.

I'm happy to be proved wrong but post some evidence with these claims mate or people will just continue to dump on you :)

i know, this thread is clearly about 15" wheels not wheel poke. all triton owners on here think its not possible to fit 15"s when it actually is. so instead of putting me down and saying they don't fit and its not possible how about they go try it for themselves before making the assumption. there are ways to have 15"s with neg offset without wheel poke for example i had 15x7 -20 with 31/10.5 tires with 0 wheel poke. so if triton owners wish to run 15" rims, with the right offset and tire you can do it.

You really need to read the rules more closely

Unbelievably your 75mm claim is correct but this is combined with no more than 50mm suspension and added to this no more than 25mm tyre. this gives you 50 + 25 = 75 :o

Also in regards to your tyres sticking out beyond the guards and being illegal it also states that the wheel track shouldn't be any more than 50mm from standard, this I'm sure you have well exceeded

jump over to 4wdaction mate, you'll fit in better there I assume

3.4 Wheels and Tyres
The overall tyre diameter can be increased to allow an increase of 7.5mm in vehicle height
for passenger vehicles and no more than 25mm in vehicle height for four wheel drive
vehicles (typically MC ADR category).
Tyres fitted to off-road passenger and light goods vehicles (MC, NA, NB ADR category) must
not be more than 50% wider than the vehicle manufacturer’s widest optional tyre. Tyres fitted
to passenger vehicles must not be more than 30% wider than the vehicle manufacturer’s
widest optional tyre.
The rim width must match the recommendations for the tyre fitted.
The tables of original tyres with the maximum allowable tyre and rim sizes in Clause 4.2
Non- Standard Tyres and Rims in the NCOP are applicable.
The wheel track of off-road and four wheel drive vehicles (MC, NA, NB ADR category) must
not be increased by more than 50mm beyond the maximum specified by the vehicle
manufacturer for the particular model.
The wheel track of passenger vehicles, including four
wheel drives or all wheel drive vehicles certified as MA ADR category must not be increased
by more than 25mm beyond the maximum specified by the vehicle manufacturer for the
particular model.
The wheels must be contained within the bodywork or mudguards (including flares) when the
wheels are in the straight-ahead position. Adequate clearance must be available between
the tyres and the vehicle bodywork.
Speedometer accuracy must be maintained for the selected tyre and rim combination to
within the degree of accuracy specified in ADR 18 where applicable

No worries mate just trying to calm it all down.

My thoughts way back when this subject first came up was why the hell would you want 15's anyway?

not ALL triton owners have said they don't fit.

see early in this thread we have shown they in fact do.

BUT without knowing the brand of rims, offset and tyre size- which the 15" guys don't seem to readily share.

Its not something that you go to a shop and say give me 15" rims- you may have to play/ test fit 100 rims and offsets to get one to fit.

nearly all that have had success have had a set of 15" rims from a past vehicle (so it cost them nothing to try) many have also tried and failed to get the 15" rims to fit.

15", 16", 17", 18", 20" its all down to personal preference i guess, there is no law saying i must run 16" rims on my triton because everyone else on this forum does. yes my 33"s stick out the guards a little on 15x7 -20 but thats my choice, if you want to run 15"s with that offset and no wheel poke just put 31x10.5 tires on, simple.

I'm sure there is a law saying you must run 16" rims on your Triton mate let's not be silly about this. It's the constitution, it's justice, it's Mabo, it's the law.

I think you may need to do more research on the subject Joel if you don't understand the vibe.

my rims don't have a brand name on them but to achieve 15"s (with 0 wheel poke) go a 15x7 -20 with a 31x10.5r15 which i think is equivalent to a 255/80r15, secret is out guys

no it just annoys me when people don't believe me when i say 15"s fit, yes i admit my 33/12.5r15s poke out a little, if you want 15"s that don't poke use 15x7 -20 with a 31/10.5r15 tyre
