Torque settings

Postby myself62 on Thu May 16, 2013 2:58 pm

Had trouble finding specific Torque settings for wheels, suspension parts etc.
Would be good to have one place we can go to find all the Torque settings for our Tritons.
Maybe we can add them here :)

ill start

Triton wheel rims
Steel rims = 147Nm +/- 10 Nm
Alloy rims = 128Nm +/- 9 Nm

^^ Is it not listed in your vehicle handbook?? :? Pretty sure thats where i looked it up originally.

There is a couple of posts from Ultimate regarding the appropriate torque settings for the suspension U-bolts.....might just need to search ;)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

Yeh it might be in the handbook and yes I have seen and used Ultimates torque settings but there isn't a "one place" where you can find all the settings.
Just thought it was a good idea :?

It's not a bad idea - just needs someone to go and find all the other torque settings posted all around the joint - feel free :D :D

the wheel nut settings appear in more than one place already.

Yes, not a bad idea. They are all listed in the Service Manual.

I have a spare desk and PC in the shop if someone wants to volunteer to go through the Service Manual and write them all down. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days. ;)

Yeah. It's called byzanz.

Needs a little fine tuning and I cut that earlier gif a couple of seconds short. Running from CLI for now because the GUI script has an error in it that I need to fix, but has potential.

Tightening torque values

Postby Rallyfreak on Mon Mar 05, 2018 9:36 pm

Hi. Been searching this forum for tightening torque values and sequence for my 2.5 hi output 4d56. Thisbtruck has beem battling me for years. Iv had clunking noises fixed multiple times. I swapped my ac fan 3 times. More recently though iv had my expansion tank always drained of coolant. Found out one of the watet jackets were leaking. Now after a few months, expansion tanks fills up way above full mark when i drive on highway, coolant not returning to rad as well, iv read through the forums that theres a recall to fix this issue and sometimes factory just replaces the whole engine, but. I have no such luck here in my country, im going to attempt to open it up myself, hence the need for the tightening torque and sequence, its been a fantastic truck when all is well, i would have giving up on it.

Hope somebody can help me. Many thanks
