Haha, yeah mate was good.
Thanks for everything you've done mate, really appreciate it! The keys are still here waiting for you to take it and add more of the Monster Rides kit.
The body itself is still in pretty good nick. Its just the tub thats copped a bit of damage, but im not concerned about it. Its easy enough to put another tub on or build a custom tray for it. Aside from that the only other damage is a scuff mark on the flare, but they will be changed anyway I think.
Will give the body a good buff and it will look like new again, theres only a few faint scratches and no dents on it. I'll make sure its clean and pretty for the shows and well for my own good lol.
The mud run was the highlight for sure, oh and that chocolate rum
wow.
Still getting comments and people talking to me about the Triton everywhere I take it. Its funny when they see the km/s on it and the work done to it and where im taking a brand new car.
IFS was seen to be more of a touring rig more so than a proper off road driver, but after driving it and experiencing it, as far as most of the tracks we will have a go at it, its definately capable while still being comfortable.
As far as hitting above my weight, I think its mainly common sence for most of it, im out with very experienced drivers aswell. I trust them, I trust myself, I trust my car and for me I just run with my gut feeling.
I will also throw this out there, the Monster Rides Kit is amazing. All I can offer is my honest opinion on it. I wont rubbish any other brand, because I've never had anything else. BUT for me, my type of driving, what makes sence in my head, I've chosen what I personally think is the best suspension for the triton and can honestly say im glad I did.
Not only because of the suspension itself, but the rest that comes with it. The support, the friendships, the development and pushing for more and better things for these cars.
Emily is a good driver, shes been around hotted up cars and not scared to get in and have a go, you look at her and think princess but shes not scared to get dirt under her nails.
Her only issue was 'I dont want to break your car' so she takes it really easy, too easy. She was known as 500rpm girl, which is why I got a little frustrated when it kept stalling because when it stalled a couple of times it put her in a bad position. Video's dont show how steep some of it was. But she got there in the end and showed just how easy these cars are to drive and how capable they actually are.
At the end of the day, I bought this car to have some fun. The mrs loved the idea of getting out of Syd and just getting away camping. The mates were bugging me to get a 4x4 for years, so it happened. Now I have one, im kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
This weekend there was no wheeling, just towed the boat up to Windamere Dam for a weekend of drinking and fishing. Wasn't even really that much fishing lol.
As far as towing is concerned with these, they tow well once your moving. But a hill start with 2 ton behind you isn't its strong point and hills you need a bit of a run up lol, be in the right gear and keep it on song. Towing with 35's should be interesting lol.
Wheres Tony? going to need that boost controller or chip lol.
Cheers,
Mat
