patto,
good luck with it and thanks for the updates. i'm sure you will keep us informed of your progress and, hopefully, success in the near future.
i also appreciate your feedback regarding the 'driveability' in contrast to just a flat out power curve. mine doesn't surge so much as is just low on power. once above about 2700-3000rpm it goes well - but who buys a diesel to drive around at that RPM!! probably why my mileage is so bad as well as i have the boot in and RPM up just to get anywhere.
i'm arranging a dyno test with someone who has an identical drivetrain to do a direct comparison. failing that the fleet sales bloke that sold me the triton has a DID auto and tows his boat with it. he actually allowed me to tow my boat (in fact he insisted) with his demonstrator and it went well. so i might flick him the keys and say "go tow with this". i reckon if it as bad as i feel it is his face will tell me if i am right and he is the sort of bloke who would go down to the service dept and say "it's f*ucked - fix it" - that's the plan anyway!
seems they have some quality control issues at Mitsibishi though.
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.
