There was a group buy ages ago for an armrest. Screws to the top of the original ;)

Can't remember but think they were from Italy or somewhere and not too cheap.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

i was driving around today, and thought exactly the same thing...would just add that little bit of extra comfort having a more usable centre arm rest.....

Could do with a bit padding on the door armrest as well - must be getting soft in my old age  .

If you have a look in Steane's shed he has a good pic of one. Sorry I can't post the link at the moment. Hopefully someone else will. ;)

They're still being sold on ebay, if you know where to look:

or

or

I think the first one might be the manufacturer and the other two resellers, but I could be wrong. If you dig up the group buy thread there was a link to their actual website which had a lot of additional detail. I emailed them at one stage and they were pretty good at replying in English despite being Italian.

has anyone thought of lifting the centre consoul 3 inches from the carpet then puting it back on , it would make it more of a sporty feel and you would have a little gear stick , i think it would good

How would you fill the gap between the consol & floor
plus the stick may look shorter but shift length would be the same

I'd love to have fold down arm rests that are attached to the seat itself, like I once had in my forester.
