I put a 2 micron unit after the factory filter. There are a few of us here that have done the same thing.
There are other threads somewhere on this subject... If you search, you will find.
The factory unit does not cover the injectors in terms of micron filtration.
This is the reason why I went post factory. The factory already has a water sensor, so going post would hopefully trap the rest prior to engine failure?

They block faster than anticipated.
One crap tank of diesel and it is all over... Filter is a lot cheaper than a engine.
