GReddy Boost Controller. Anyone installed one?

Postby amalinze on Sat Apr 18, 2009 7:44 am

Just wondering if any one has installed a GReddy Profec B? Mines coming next week and i'm interested to know if anyone has used these. Pics of install would be nice.... And does anyone have any idea what the max boost the standard turbo can handle safely? I have looked through the forum and all i can find is 18-20 PSI. Should i go 20 or play it safe with 18?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Read any posts by monstertriton mate. He modify's the 3.2's for a living.

From memory he mentions 24psi but have a look at his posts. I think one is called 'DMS ralliart piggyback' or something.

I am running up to 22psi boost spike and then it will sit on 20psi with standard turbo and just clocked up 4000kms with Monstertriton DMS piggy Back Plugin. Only trouble I have had is carbon build up in the manifold, but that is being sorted out now.

Tritonoaurus is running a manual boost controller, but I don't know what boost it's set at - could be worth sending him a PM 8-)

hey garry,
a you gor a profec B?
wow nice choice mate :)
run max 22psi with the std turbo to avoide any reliability issue.
mind you the efficiency cfm of the td03hl turbo is still producing good flow up to 25psi.
run 22psi and you will get the best of both worlds, very good reliability with a big sweet spot flow of efficinecy of the turbo to produce the best numbers and best feeling for all you gents.

as for the carbon build up, remove the small rubber tube connecting from the engine to the intake pipe.
then fit a long hoses, and just bypass that down to under the truck so it gets thrown away.
next, close your egr. you will also gain hp and torque, as you can imagen instead of air with carbon being intaked in to engine you just get plain old good air :) and everything will run much more efficent and will last alot longer the std to.

if u want i have a picutre of the egr plate you should make if you want to close the egr. it might help alot of people in the forum.
