Am up to 13K now and just she's just started squeaking more than a dirty motels 30 year old spring mattress. Glad I found this thread - will wait to the 15K service (probably a fortnight) and will get them on to this hotline fix mentioned herein.

Sorry to dissappoint but you have a new model with the spacer already in the leafs - this is what i have been told, and you can jump up and down as much as you want, but supposedly there is nothing we can do...this is what the dealer told me...he then blamed me for the extended shackles making it squeak, i said do you think im that stupid i can feel and hear the squeak in the leaf pack - MORON!!!!

Ohwel best of luck mate...

Bugger :(

Well I will make a fuss about it. I had a 20 year old Camira that made less noise than this. They can do something about it - I have no modifications WHATSOEVER to my suspension, no bull bars, no different wheels/tyres and they surely won't try and blame it on my reversing camera addition.

lfunkqe, was that the normal rear step install from the dealer on your page, it's incredible for the wrong reason! Is that a razorback canopy?

I have found something that fixes the problem! Spray it with (spray grease or spray lube) something like that, i cant remember the name but its in a dark blue can, works a treat - give it a good drench thou!!! And then just rock the car from side to side and work it in, should be gone in a matter of minutes that or just drive around and it should dissappear!!! best of luck

i had my squeaky suspension fixed at my local dealer (Bell Mitsubushi Wollongong) and they sent my springs off to a local suspension company to repack and extend the leaf pack holders.
They were using the fix that mitsubishi said but had to many people coming back so they give all the springs to the suspension place and they have had no problems since.

I just spoke to a dealer and she said that apparently Mits have brought out a silencer kit for them as they know its a problem.

Definitely getting that done under warranty at 7500km service. ;)

Any news about the silencer Kit

Spoke to my local dealer yesterday about my squeak (already has the hotfix fitted on production line). He said Mitsubishi are about to release a new fix soon. They are having a Sydney customer service manager meeting next Thursday and this is on the top of their list.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it. He said there are many many people unhappy with the squeaky rear leafs !!

what are these dents your talking about they wouldnt happen to be at the rear around the tailgate handle??
ive got 4 parallel to each other around that area and just wrote them off as someone hitting the ute but a mate of my dads has the same dents thinking there might be an issue with thin metal used in the tailgate any one else out there have the same thing

Dont know if any one is interested to know ,but i took my ute in for its 7500 service and at the same time got them to fix the dreded squeak(mine wasnt that bad but still noticable) got a call this morning telling me that the fix available wouldnt fix the squeak and they have to replace all of the rear suspension, so now im on a waiting list for the new parts to be shipped in.
should be interesting to see how long that will take. :?
