don't forget not only what is in your recovery kit as what is on your car.
i'm in a 4wd club and you would not believe how many very new enthusiastic people turn up with the mandatory shackles and straps and no recovery points!! make sure you have front and rear RATED recovery points. Triton has nothing standard on the rear unless you get a towbar. Front one looks a bit marginal to me but i did not look too hard as i now have the bullbar.
If a snatch strap complete with rated shackle and the part of the car that gives way at full strain come hurtling towards you.....it aint pretty.
for all the noobies into the 4wd scene you absolutely should invest in a reasonable quality air compressor and gauge as well as the mandatory straps, shackles and some of the other gear mentioned here but before you go and purchase the whole lot you are better buying some better tyres. Better to never need recovering anyway and decent tyres with lowered pressures make a huge difference.
and the other thing, a snatch strap is useless without another vehicle. If you are new to the scene and don't know your limitations never go 4wding alone.
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.
